I don’t know the species or hybrid on this Alstroemeria. This picture was taken back in March one street over from where I live. I discovered these when I lived in Florida and I have liked them since.

This picture was actually taken back in March, in my own backyard.

Believe it or not, this is also known as Lily of the Valley. When mom bought it at Home Depot, I thought it was labeled incorrectly because I know Lily of the Valley has sword-shaped leaves. Imagine my surpise.

I am pretty sure this is a Cymbidium orchid, but was not able to identify the species. The picture was taken back in March 2009.

I recently learned that the color of a hydrangea depends on the PH level of the soil. Isn’t that interesting. This flowers alwasys remind me of my Grandma Perez as she used to have them growing in her yard. I … Continue reading →
