While my compassion level is low for the Middle East, I am not a monster and appreciate the need for refugees (any race, any creed) to find a safe place to live and my heart goes out to them.
However, Barack’s stance on this issue really pisses me off! Apparently, he – like the rest of the government has forgotten that the United States was founded on the principle that it be governed by the people, which means to me that YOU work for me, Barack!
I DON’T WANT ANY REFUGEES, especially:
- from a war-torn country, where helpful Americans are viewed as enemies and invaders
- when the United States can’t even help it’s own citizens before sending money, aid, food to other countries
- because refugees get assistance and benefits when they are not even citizens, while we have Americans – like me – that can’t even find a job and are (technically and according to the Department of Public Social Services) homeless
Barack, instead of “demanding” your stance on refugees is correct, you should be “asking” American citizens how they feel about this and then bow to the majority vote.
As for voting, with the technological advances we have made, why isn’t there a mechanism where everyone with a phone can vote? People can opt-in to a mailing list and be advised via text which opinion is being solicited via text and would better represent our country as a whole. DOH! This solution would also eliminate the need for crony senators and representatives, who sit in the house for life! Even the president’s term is limited!
Ultimately, why aren’t those countries taking care of business themselves? Just look at the background of the accompanying images: dirt, rocks, more dirt, more rocks. Let them all kill themselves and then we won’t have to deal with them anymore.
