Back in July/August 2015, I received the SAR-7 form to complete for continued CalFresh benefits (food stamps).
Apparently, I did not complete the form, forgetting to include proof of income and missing three boxes on the form. In August, I received notice that my benefits had been terminated due to incomplete form.
In October, I noticed that I had not received benefits automatically on my card; I probably did not receive September either, but didn’t notice because I usually have rollover benefits.
I called and was told to reapply. I reapplied on October 13, 2015, submitting an online application due to lack of car to visit office. I requested emergency processing (3 days), as I am now spending my rent money to buy food.
Called today to follow-up. Told: 30-45 days to process online applications…so much for “YOUR BENEFITS NOW!” In the meantime, I am spending my rent money to buy food.
The Silver Lining: benefits will be retroactive to application date.
