SYNOPSIS
Balthazar Black (Nicolas Cage) is a master sorcerer in modern-day Manhattan trying to defend the city from his arch-nemesis, Maxim Horvath (Alfred Molina). Balthazar can’t do it alone, so he recruits Dave Stutler (Jay Baruchel), a seemingly average guy who demonstrates hidden potential, as his reluctant protégé. The sorcerer gives his unwilling accomplice a crash course in the art and science of magic, and together, these unlikely partners work to stop the forces of darkness. It’ll take all the courage Dave can muster to survive his training, save the city and get the girl as he becomes The Sorcerer’s Apprentice. Source: Disney The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.

REVIEW
This is my kind of movie, so I am please to say I absolutely loved it! Humor, special effects, good simple story. A return to classic Disney fare, this movie is targeted towards a younger audience, but provides enough action, suspense, romance and humor for the older viewing audience. On the way out of the theater, a noticed a young boy with the look of awe on his face and an elder lady, enjoying the look on his face, commented that he must’ve like it. I replied “I sure did,” To which she replied “So did I!”

The only character I was not too fond of was Drake Stone (Toby Kebbell). I would have preferred someone with an American accent over a British accent. There was also a weak link in the process of his discovery by Maxim Horvath.

Despite two minor flaws, I still loved the movie.
