REVIEW
I’ve seen Fight Club so I was not surprised to discover this movie to be just as quirky.
I felt this movie left much unresolved. Was Ida really Victor’s mother? Was Victor arrested for rape? The ending suggests that Victor was not cured of his sexual addiction, but did he learn to love? Did Victor ever discover who his father was? Too many unanswered questions led me not to enjoy this movie so much and finding the whole storytelling method to be quite convoluted and abstract for my practical mind.
I must say that I was finding Sam Rockwell kind of cute; maybe that’s why I was able to stay awake during the viewing. I also loved seeing Anjelica Huston, but did not feel her roll was very challenging. I was surprised to see Joel Grey in this movie, and having discovered this after the fact, I can remember his character distinctly.
