I understand how the supreme court ruled, ruling on the technicality of the amendment, I view gay marriage as a civil rights issue, and as such, I am appalled. I also heard on the news that the state may not reimburse local government for the recent election, which comes with a price tag of about $100 million. The state is the one who requested the election, knowing full well that their measures would probably be defeated. To top it off, I heard that Mayor Villaraigosa is flying to Sacramento to speak with Governor Schwarzeneggar. With the state in crisis over the budget, why is he flying? Haven’t they heard of teleconferencing?
